             Prenatal Chiropractic Care

We understand that the health and well-being of a pregnant woman is incredibly important because the care we provide affects both mom and baby. Proper nervous system and spinal function of the mom-to-be is absolutely crucial to baby’s development, and essential to the health and comfort of mom. The positive effects of chiropractic care during pregnancy extend well beyond treating pain.

By creating proper alignment and motion of pelvis and spine, chiropractic care helps to ensure that the developing baby has optimal space to grow within the uterus.  Maintaining this proper alignment and motion throughout pregnancy also improves the ability of the mother to have a safe and natural birth process. Decreasing the likelihood for medical interventions such as inductions, epidurals injections, vacuum extractions, forceps, and even C-sections will improve the outcome for mom and baby.

The modern birth process in the US can be one of the most traumatic events that a mother will endure in their life. Unfortunately, many health care providers look at pregnancy as a medical condition rather than the safe and completely natural process that it is. A woman’s body is specifically designed to carry and delivery babies, and difficulties are less likely to occur if mom is functioning at an optimal level.

Dr. Olson is the only Webster certified chiropractor in the Novi area, which is the only chiropractic technique specifically designed to treat expecting moms safely, comfortably, and effectively.

Pediatric Care:

Due to the potentially stressful experience the baby undergoes during the birth process, even with a natural/drug-free delivery, Dr. Olson feels that it is extremely important to have your child checked for spinal subluxation as soon as possible after birth. Subluxation is the misalignment or lack of motion within the spine that results in stress on the body, and commonly symptoms such as colic, ear infections, or poor sleep. The birth process is a very common cause of subluxation, more commonly following a delivery that involved medical interventions. Chiropractors are the only health care providers trained to detect and correct these subluxations, ensuring your little one grows and develops free from neurologic stress.

As children grow and develop new skills such as learning to roll, sit, crawl, walk and play, their spines undergo new forces. Many of the spinal misalignments we treat in adults are likely the result of such childhood traumas. Detecting and correcting these misalignments reduces the risk of your child dealing with spinal and overall health challenges later in life.

The best time to have your child examined for spinal dysfunction is BEFORE they exhibit symptoms such as those listed above. Wellness, or preventative, care for kids is a great way to help keep them happy, healthy, and strong.

On top of all of the amazing health benefits of chiropractic, kids just love getting adjusted!
