If you have never been to a fully integrated medical clinic before, we know it can be a little scary; however, at StayWell Spine & Joint Specialists in Novi, Michigan, our number one goal is to make you feel comfortable during each and every one of your visits with us!
What To Expect on Your First Visit
When you first enter our office you will be greeted warmly by our reception staff. We will then ask you to complete our new patient forms. If you would like to save time, go ahead and fill out these forms here. This paperwork is what will give us a basic idea of your health history and information on what brought you in to see us.
After you have completed your new patient forms, you will be taken to a consultation room. You will then have a consultation with one of our chiropractors to discuss your health problems, concerns, potential treatment options, and your past medical history. At this consultation, you will also work with the doctor to set expectations so you can determine how chiropractic care can help you meet your goals.
Once the consultation is complete, the doctor will perform a full chiropractic examination. This examination will include testing your reflexes and flexibility, neurological testing, orthopedic testing, posture analysis, and physical tests. If we determine you need X-rays, we will take them to help us have a better picture of what is going on within your body. Oftentimes, people are amazed when looking at their X-rays to see misalignments or even degeneration!

To achieve good health you need to have good spinal alignment, have a healthy diet, exercise regularly and maintain a positive mental state. We know that is hard to do on your own. Which is why we have our Wellness Program!
Our Wellness Program is designed to help you keep moving forward on the path towards health and wellness by providing you with things you can do when you aren’t at our clinic.
For instance, if you come to see us in pain, we will suggest you apply heat or ice and avoid certain activities or positions. We may even suggest some exercises and stretches you can do at home.
Even if you aren’t in pain, our team will work with you to create healthy habits and routines that help you achieve your health goals and fit in with your needs and lifestyle.

Once we are sure we have answered ALL of your questions, we will begin your first treatment with us. This treatment could include spinal manipulation, physical therapy, and/or soft tissue massage. This treatment is designed for you to feel comfortable to speak freely with us and tell us how you are feeling about the different styles of treatment when you want.
